When life is crazy busy…or when I’m out running errands…or when I’m bored…or when I need an afternoon pick-me-up at the office…I look for a snack to get myself through. I think that’s pretty common with a lot of people. But my idea of snacks usually aren’t that healthy, especially when I’m away from home and on the go. I usually want that quick fix, even though I know it’s not the best way to go. That’s why I was so excited to discover Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks.
Each serving of Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks has 10-11 grams of protein, and will keep you full and satisfied longer than snacks with added salt and or sugar. With only 80 calories per serving, they also won’t derail your healthier eating goals. I am a big fan of responsibly raised products, and Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks fit that bill with 100% grass-fed beef and antibiotic free pork and chicken.
Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks come in 4 flavors, so you’ll definitely find something to satisfy your craving:
- Korean Barbeque (steak)
- Szechuan Peppercorn (steak)
- Ginger Teriyaki (chicken)
- Sweet Chili (pork)
I like all 4 Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks flavors, but the Sweet Chili is my favorite. There’s just something about that sweet chili flavor that reminds me of some of my favorite Asian dishes. Korean BBQ is a very close second.

HARD DAY AT THE POOL
I have a group of very close friends here in Stillwater, and we do so many fun things together. In the summer, we spend a lot of time at Matt & April’s house. It’s hard not to, because they have an awesome pool and a huge yard where the kids can play.
When you’re in the pool or the backyard, the last thing you want to do is get out of the pool and go into the kitchen to make snacks or food for the crowd. That’s where Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks come to the rescue. One of the best things is their ease of portability. The bags are resealable, they hold well in high temperatures, and everyone can grab them as needed.
With no preservatives and no added MSG, you’ll feel good about your kids enjoying Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks. They’re also gluten free, so they are a wonderful treat for people with gluten allergies or intolerance.
Stella was such a patient participant! Of course, as soon as she smelled the snacks she never left my side. During my photo shoot around the pool area I lost a couple of pieces in transportation. Not to worry, the dogs beat me to the punch and were very happy to help out.
PRE OR POST WORKOUT SNACK
After a hard workout at the gym, or a long run, I like to refuel with the Szechuan Peppercorn flavor. I love the kick of flavor from the peppercorn
ON-THE-GO…IN A CHAIR
Even when I’m not on the go, I keep Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks close by. One of my favorite things to do is sit on the patio with a cup of coffee (or glass of wine) and read a good book. I’m a voracious reader, and could literally sit out there all day. With a bag (or 2) of these snacks at the table I don’t have to move.
AT THE OFFICE
Football season is by far the busiest time of year for me. In August and September, I have to force myself to leave the office to grab something to eat around lunchtime. Even during less busy times, that snack attack hits in the late afternoon. I purposely don’t keep any salty/sugary snacks in my office, or I would mindlessly eat them all the time. I keep Lorissa’s Kitchen Meat Snacks at my desk for easy access. The resealable bag is perfect for me to take them with me when I’m in the stadium getting ready for gameday.

10-11 grams of protein is a big amount. So, it makes these recipes worth trying. I'll check out each of them soon, and pick the best ones for me :)
