A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’m originally from the East Coast, born in Washington DC and raised in Maryland. I worked in sports almost all of my adult life, beginning with University of Maryland athletics in 1993. I’m a Terps grad, and a lifelong Terps fan. In 2007, I moved to Oklahoma for a job opportunity at Oklahoma State Athletics, and found my second favorite college sports team…and now I yell, scream and cheer for the Pokes as much as the Terps.
I’m a runner…sort of…let’s be honest, I run so that I can eat! I completed my first half marathon in 2013, and now run at least one per year. No, I don’t have any desire to run a full marathon. I travel as often as possible, I love to read, and there’s nothing better than a relaxing weekend at home.
ABOUT KARYL’S KULINARY KRUSADE
I began the blog in the summer of 2012, to force myself out of the rut of eating the same things over and over again. My initial focus was solely restaurants, with a goal of visiting 100 new restaurants in 18 months. Within just a few months I expanded the blog to include recipes. Adding recipes to the blog has allowed me to showcase my passion for cooking, and to share that love with my readers.
The blog really started as a personal journal, for me and a handful of my friends who followed it. I had no idea how many opportunities would open for me. Last summer I began a partnership with Stillwater Living Magazine as their monthly recipe contributor. I partner with agencies for sponsored posts, travel reviews and brand reviews of products that I use love.

ABOUT MY RECIPES
The blog has made me a much more adventurous eater, but I’ll never showcase a recipe I don’t like or ingredients I won’t eat. That’s unfair to you and disingenuous of me. Every recipe I share has been tested–and enjoyed. I don’t have one specific type of cuisine or category; instead, I want to expand the horizons and palates of my readers.
PEPPERCORN GARLIC PORK CHOPS – My very first recipe featured in Stillwater Living Magazine
BAKED HOMEMADE MAC & CHEESE – A recipe passed down from my mother
VENISON CHEESESTEAK SLOPPY JOES – A trip 100% outside of my comfort zone
