Want to deconstruct your burrito, sandwich or wrap? Or create an easily portable meal? Recipe Roundup: Bowls showcases 30 inventive ways to have a meal in a bowl
When I was a kid, my food could not touch; if anything did accidentally touch, I wouldn’t eat that part of it. My mom portioned out just enough on my plate to leave white space between each food. My parents are from Trinidad, and my relatives have no problem piling everything on top of each other. So at family gatherings my mom made my plate, so I would actually eat. I was in my early 20’s before my food could touch. Good thing, because bowls are all the rage these days. Bowls are a take on salads, but usually without lettuce; or if there is lettuce, it’s a small part of the mix.
One of the greatest things about bowls is you can mix almost anything together. It’s a great way to deconstruct a burrito, wrap, or sandwich. This week’s Recipe Roundup: Bowls shows just 30 inventive ways to construct a great bowl.
