A full pound of lobster in every roll? Fabulous lobster at a food court? Spiked lemonade? Yes, yes and yes!! All that and more at Lobster Me.
Last weekend I did a quick weekend trip to Vegas with a group of friends. There were 7 of us in the group, which is kind of big, but we had a great time.
Saturday was a really long day. The time change meant I woke up ridiculously early. After laying in bed another 30 minutes I worked out, went to brunch at Hash House a Go Go, went to Rent the Runway with Michele, and then hit the casinos. We had originally talked about going to the pool, but when it came time to really go out there, everyone bailed on the idea.
You would think after our huge meal at Hash House that we wouldn’t be hungry the rest of the day. But then you would be wrong. Besides, losing money at the casino does that to you. Kacey, Brad, Lindsay & Steven had gone to meet another couple for drinks and dinner. Shauna wasn’t hungry, so it was just Reilly, Michele and I. Yesterday on our way to Lagasse’s Stadium for lunch, we had seen a sign for Lobster Me. Reilly was extremely excited to see that there was one so close, and said it was awesome. When he recommended we walk over there to eat, I have to admit I was a little hesitant. Lobster from a food court?! But Reilly swore I would like it, and he’s never steered me wrong when it comes to food, so I decided to go with it.
There are 2 Lobster Me locations in Vegas (one at Planet Hollywood and one at The Venetian), one in San Francisco, and even one in Bethesda MD. The location at The Venetian is in the Canal Shops, just a short walk from where we were gambling.
No surprise, the Lobster Me menu is all about lobster. Rolls, tacos, mac & cheese, grilled cheese, sliders and more. They’ve also got a few non-lobster dishes, including fish tacos, shrimp sliders, and clam chowder. They even have a kids menu with a few different items.
Reilly also ordered a lemonade. He asked if it was spiked; she said no, but said that he could add it. I watched her make his lemonade and wanted the same thing. Not only do they add bourbon, they also add a scoop of lemon sorbet.
The lemonade was fabulous! The regular lemonade was good, but the bourbon and sherbert took it to a whole new level of good. The bourbon packed some serious power, but the sherbert helped to tone it down just a little bit.
I went with the Cajun roll with salt & vinegar fries
One bite and I fully understood Reilly and Michele’s excitement. The roll was phenomenal, just like you’re in Maine. Well, I’ve never eaten lobster in Maine, but I’m assuming. Buttery roll, huge chunks of fresh lobster, a little bite to the mayo. I initially doubted their claim of a pound of lobster in every roll, but I think they’re right. The cole slaw was delicious too. Not heavy at all, but still creamy from the mayo. The fries were okay, but I should have just stuck with the house-made chips it comes with, or double the cole slaw. For some reason I was on a french fry binge all weekend. And sadly, none of them lived up to my very high fry expectations. None were bad, but none jumped out at me.
There is absolutely no question I’ll be eating at Lobster Me again.
