I love all things chicken, so what better way to celebrate National Poultry Day than with a collection of wonderful dishes for a Recipe Roundup
With the exception of vegetarians and vegans, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t eat chicken…except my friend Reilly. I still can’t figure that one out. I always have been, and always will be, a dark meat girl. My parents always cooked with dark meat, so I learned from them. Yes, I know that dark meat has more calories, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for more flavor. I’m also that person who buys bulk chicken from Sam’s Club, and then portion and freeze it. That way, I always have chicken in the house, and it’s simple to thaw and prepare.
I love the versatility of chicken. Bake, fry, saute, grill, the options are endless. Chicken is beautiful by itself, or paired with other ingredients. I could give up red meat–maybe–but no chance I’m giving up chicken. Many of my favorite recipes include chicken, so I am excited to participate in this National Poultry Day Recipe Roundup.
