Fall might just be my favorite time of year. Football season, holidays, the gorgeous colors of the season and, of course, comfort food. I’m a creature of habit when it comes to drinks, particularly alcoholic beverages. I have a couple of favorites, and quite honestly don’t normally jump into the seasonal drink craze. To me, Fall drinks always mean warm…and the only warm drink I do is coffee. But when opportunity calls, I answer…with Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch.
This Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch is fantastic! Smooth and so flavorful, with a wonderful background spice. It’s served cold, but still feels like Fall.
KEYS TO THE PERFECT APPLE CINNAMON RUM PUNCH
There’s not much better than Saturdays in the Fall, because that means tailgating for football games at the stadium. We have a pretty big group at our tailgate; we set up early, and stay late. We always have lots of food and drinks, and as the day progresses the excitement builds for a great game. BACARDÍ® Superior rum is my go-to brand for Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch, because of its clean, crisp taste.
I use fresh apple cider, one that’s not from concentrate. This time of year you can find it in the produce section of the grocery store, in a variety of sizes. If you can find cider made locally, that’s even better. Fresh apple cider is like fresh-squeezed orange juice, and does have pulp. If you don’t like pulp, pour the cider through a strainer first.
You can’t have Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch without a mixer, and my favorite is Coca-Cola®. With a classic, delicious cola taste, Coca-Cola® goes with everything. If you want a little bit more of a citrus flavor in your Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch, use Sprite®. The crisp, clean taste complements the BACARDÍ® Superior rum very well.
I also add fresh apple and lemon slices when I make a large batch, for more flavor.
APPLE CINNAMON RUM PUNCH IS EASY TO MAKE FOR A CROWD!
For tailgating, parties, and other celebrations, I make apple cinnamon rum punch in a 1-gallon beverage dispenser.
- Start by adding apple cider to dispenser
- Add BACARDÍ® Superior rum and Coca-Cola® (see measurements below)
- Stir mixture well. I use a long-handled wooden spoon
- Add apple and lemon slices, and stir again
- Allow mixture to rest in fridge for at least one hour
You can experiment with the amount of BACARDÍ® Superior rum, to find the perfect mixture for you. I use 1 1/2 cups of rum for every 1/2 gallon of apple cider. You want the hint of rum, but don’t want it to overpower the Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch.
Fresh cinnamon sticks add so much more flavor to Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch. I’ve tried adding cinnamon sticks to the container, but a 1-gallon container means LOTS of cinnamon sticks. Instead, I add the cinnamon sticks, plus a couple more fresh apple slices, as garnish in each glass. It doesn’t take long for the cinnamon to infuse in the glass.
Coca-Cola® is perfect for all kinds of events, from parties and picnics, to tailgates and holiday entertaining. The 7.5oz Coca-Cola® Mini cans are perfect for group gatherings, as mixers and smaller portions. Make sure to stock up your refrigerator, so you never run out of ice cold Coca-Cola®! And don’t forget BACARDÍ® as your go-to brand of rum for your social events, or to enjoy with adult family at home.
- 1/2 gallon fresh apple cider (not from concentrate)
- 1 1/2 cups BACARDÍ® Superior Rum
- 15 ounces Coca-Cola (2 Mini cans)
- 1 large apple, sliced
- 1 large lemon, sliced
- cinnamon sticks
- apple slices
- In a large beverage dispenser, add apple cider, BACARDÍ® Superior rum and Coca-Cola. Mix well with a long wooden spoon. Add apple and lemon slices, and mix again. Chill in fridge for at least one hour
- TO SERVE: Fill glasses halfway with ice cubes. In each glass, add 1 cinnamon stick and 2 apple slices. Fill glasses with Apple Cinnamon Rum Punch. Cinnamon sticks will infuse punch
