Sunday night, when we got back from the tour at TCF Bank Stadium (U of Minnesota), we headed to Brits Pub, about a block from the hotel. They have a really cool rooftop, with lounge seating and a big area for lawn bowling. Nobody in our group tried the bowling, but a lot of our colleagues from the conference were at it.
A couple hours later, back at the hotel bar, lo and behold we were hungry. We had no desire to walk anywhere, so Jessica found a brochure for Pizza Luce, the self-proclaimed “Minnesota’s Best Pizza”. There were about 10 people in our group, so to make it easy we ordered 2 pepperoni pizzas. The ordering itself was a challenge, because they tried to tell us that they couldn’t deliver to the lobby. A little sweet-talking, and about 20 minutes later, our food arrived. I’m not sure what it was about the pizza, but it was amazing!! It was fresh and hot, and you could tell the dough was homemade. We devoured both pizzas in record time, and headed off to bed.
After all the food at the Twins ballpark on Monday night, you would think we wouldn’t be able to eat again for days. Boy, was that a wrong assumption. About 1am, the hunger hit again and Ryan ordered 2 of The Wrangler. We devoured the pizzas before I realized that I forgot to take pictures. So thanks to Bing.com, I found this one online
Again, the pizza was fantastic. I was never a fan of banana peppers until this pizza. They’re not spicy at all…they just add a great depth of flavor. There was a little bit of sweetness to the pizza too, and I think it was a combination of the sauce and peppers. Whatever it was, I was sold.
If I’m ever back in Minneapolis, late at night, in need of food, I know exactly where I’m ordering from. They have a few sit-down locations, but it’s just not the same.
